Lauren Bacall, for those who do not know, is one of the many female actresses that flooded the movie screens in the 1940's. Lauren Bacall is the quentesental icon for this topic. She is the perfect mix of beauty and intellegence. Her honest manipulation and quick witt used on the men around her not only on the screen, but in real life is the balace of beauty on the outside and inside. She is the example that many women inspire to be (one of the boys, but still considered beautiful).At the height of her stardom, she was very much not what most women were thought to be. She wasn't a simple woman, bluntly searching for a husband to settle down with. She could hold her own when she had to, but deep down she still wanted the American Dream of a family and such. This is why Lauren Bacall is the quentestanal icon for this, and in away my answer that women can be seen as beautiful, but still regarded for their minds.
