Quote # 1

"....we're still the weaker sex...It's up to us to appear as alluring and lovely as possible....Whether you're in or out of uniform, you'll want to be completely appealing and feminine-you'll want delightful satin-smooth lips and all the glamor of a silky, petal-smooth complexion."World War two brought may new opportunities for women, they were needed in factories, overseas, and the many other jobs the men left open to go fight fell open for women. Even though, women had a 'man's' job now, they were still expected to dress and act  what was considered proper. Women were still pressured to be the ideal, but how could a women run a home, go to work and still have time to look like a china doll? Women began to use their means of dressing to give them a foothold into what they wanted to achieve. In a way, slyly using their fashion taste to open up the opportunity to show off their beautiful mind, instead of hiding their thoughts by dressing a certain way.
